For serious Internet Marketing newbies, starting an online business from the comforts of your home is easy. All it takes is a good mentor to show you the ropes. Online marketing isn’t hard work once you know what to do, how to do it and when to do it.
1. The one thing you don’t want to ignore when starting your Internet marketing business is having a simple business plan to follow. Make a few notes about your goals, desires, and finances for the next 12 months. Don’t make it more difficult than it has to be. Just keep it simple and get it done.
2. A Good Niche – finding profitable niches is as simple as identifying the right keyword. Knowing what keywords are heavily searched on and have reasonable competition on the internet is known as market or keyword research. It is not enough to choose a niche you like without knowing if there is any profitability in it. There has to be targeted traffic who is ready and willing to buy a your particular product.
3. Email Marketing – though there are many ways to generate online money, email marketing, also referred to as lead generation, is one of the most powerful internet marketing tactics that can be used for any niche and any online business.
4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – knowing how to optimize your blog or website to attract the search engine spiders is important if you want to wipe out your competition and be found by potential customers.
5. Affiliate Marketing – if you want to sell other people’s products for compensation from the merchant. You can sell products such as bikes, wheelbarrows, rakes, camcorders, and millions of other items through online affiliate marketing. You can even sell information products for people looking for training. For example, you might sell a training product on building blogs or investing your money. The merchant pays a commission for all sales you make and some will continue to pay for repeat sales to the same customer.
6. Internet Marketing Tools – there are lots of tools available for free, or a minimal price, that can be used to make your online marketing efforts and setup easy and cost effective. Tools used for such things as keyword research, pinging, article submission, social bookmarking, blogging and much more.
7. Outsource Your Work – once you get started with your Internet Marketing business you’ll find that keeping up with the work is difficult. Outsourcing some of your work to others is easy, inexpensive and well worth it. You should be concentrating on Marketing your business and hire others to write your articles, create your sites and blogs, build your Web 2.0 properties, or other tedious processes that take your time away from promoting your sites and blogs.
8. Building a Blog – one of the most popular methods of Affiliate Marketing is to build blogs. This is particularly great for beginners due to the low cost. Most blogs are free and come with a vast amount of useful plugins, such as Google Analytics, for tracking your visitors. You can even add a plugin that will translate your site into other languages.
9. Marketing With Articles – article marketing is the process of submitting well written and information-packed articles to places like Ezinearticles.com. By doing this you can build backlinks to your site or blog. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of places on the Internet to submit your articles to. Be sure to read the rules for each and abide by them. For example, Ezinearticles won’t accept duplicate content. There are ways of checking if your work is unique or not so don’t try to copy an article written by someone else. Write unique content and add your links in the Bio or other areas where they are allowed.
10. Internet Marketing Strategy – knowing how to strategically implement all of the above internet marketing tactics for the best results is the core of online success. Do not try to go it alone. Finding a good mentor to guide you through the entire online marketing process could save you thousands of dollars.
Take some time to learn about the different online marketing strategies and how to implement them. Don’t plunge into paid services without some serious coaching first. I lost thousands through pay per click marketing when I was a newbie because I didn’t know what I was doing.
